A new era of technological research and innovation and research has lead human kind to depend excessively on gadgets and electronic devices for their day to day living and if any of these gadgets fails to function on any given day, one tends to feel nothin short of paralyed.

Gadgets like the mobile phone, laptop, i-pod, etc along with services like e-mails and voice calling and other such related products make life very easy on a day to day basis but once they go misssing one feels the void. Hence, despite their negative effects we rely greatly on technology and the gadggets asociated with it.

How long gadgets last

Gadgets rule the life of everybody now. From teenagers on their iPods and PSPs, to corporate hotshots on their Blackberries and annoying Bluetooth headsets, they are everywhere. We can’t begin to imagine life without them, even for a fleeting instant.
We would be crippled without our computers or our mobile phones. Gadgets have begun to define their owners. A teenager with a Playstation Portable is a gaming enthusiast. All major companies like Apple, Sony and Microsoft, among others, are coming out with more advanced, shinier gadgets which are rendering the previous versions obsolete. The original iPhone, which created a huge stir when it was launched a couple of years back, is now an antique in terms of gadget life.

So officially it seems that usefullness and purpose of gadgets are the defining characters. No so much technology etc.The origins of the word "gadget" trace back to the 19th century.
